GREETINGS!

Greetings!  February promises to be a busy month as it is full of many school activities.  Post this newsletter for easy referral!

Monday, January 30:         (K-4 students) 100th Day of School edibles are due at school today!
Thursday, February 2:       100th Day of School celebration!
Friday, February 3:            PARENTS’ CLUB MEETING, 7:30 P.M. WE NEED YOU!  As we gear up for                                         the Spaghetti Dinner/Auction, we need everyone’s enthusiastic support! 
                                       We need your energy towards this meeting as we plan this                                                      huge undertaking.  Let’s all pitch in to ease the workload of the teachers!                                           The Teddy Bears and second graders will be entertaining us and childcare                                        is provided!
                                      TWO FREE-DRESS DAYS for the month of February to ALL students                                                 whose parents attend the meeting; Friday, February 10 and Thursday,                                                 February 16!
Saturday, February 4:        KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION MEETING  1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.   This is                                       an open house for parents interested in our kindergarten program for                                          the 2012/2013 school term.  The meeting will be in the                                                                         kindergarten classroom.  Childcare is available. Attendance is mandatory                                             and a pre-requisite for enrollment.  Even though you may have had                                        a child(ren) in our kindergarten before, you are required to attend.  Please                                           be on time, as this meeting will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m.
Friday, February 10:          Spell-a-thon monies due at school! Jog-a-thon monies are due at                                                school. Please note that the minimum contribution per child is $125.00.

Tuesday, February 14:       Valentine’s Day Parties   Sign up for party contributions!  Lists are posted!
Thursday, February 16:     Free dress for students whose parents attended February 3rd meeting!
Friday, February 17:          NO SCHOOL – ALL STUDENTS Teachers’ In-service Day
Monday, February 20:       NO SCHOOL, PRESIDENTS’ DAY (all students)
Wednesday, February 22:  Well-wishes due for the yearbook today!
Friday, February 24:          Parent/Teacher Conferences School dismissed at noon.  DAYCARE will                                             be available for FULL-TIME preschoolers/kindergartners and those who sign
                                       up to use it. 

FEBRUARY 2 ~ HAPPY 100th DAY OF SCHOOL:   We will celebrate the 100th day of school on Thursday! The primary grade students (K-4) should have brought their 100 pieces of
edible items today! These items should be individually wrapped.  Please put the edible
goodies in a clear container/plastic bag and have your child write his/her name on it.

2012/2013 OPEN ENROLLMENT for Preschool (Teddy Bears & Lion Cubs) and KINDERGARTEN:   We need our school families to spread the news of what a hidden treasure our little school is in the community.  If you know of family members or friends who want their children to be challenged academically, learn about God, and to respect one another, please tell them about Lea’s.  It’s especially important to tell them about the Kindergarten Information meeting on February 4, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the kindergarten classroom.  As an incentive, any referring family will receive $50 off towards tuition when the new family finishes the probationary period.

VALENTINE’S DAY PARTIES on Tuesday, February 14:  Traditionally, the parties are planned and celebrated within each classroom.  Children need to bring a lunch as they normally do.  School will be dismissed at the usual time.  Watch for party sign-up sheets in each classroom.  Ms. Ho will bring the first grade sign-up sheet to Mrs. Bland for daycare parents’ contributions.

FREE DRESS on Friday, February 10, and Thursday, February 16, for students whose parents attended the February 3 Parents’ Club meeting.  The following article of clothing are NOT allowed on free dress day, sweat clothes, tank tops, long skirts, camouflage/army-styled clothing, or violent graphic T-shirts.  Shoes must be safe for playground activities as always.
